I just bought my wife a Blaster its a 97 yellow/blk with K&N and FMF pipe set up. I have never owned a blaster and being the person I am I can never leave anything stock. Even though I know this quad is just a starting point for her, I want her to be able to follow me anywhere and her quad have the nuts and suspension to get out. So I'm here to learn some tips about these fun little quads and maybe leave a few tips about the 250R. I've been riding them forever!

for more power, get it ported, with a different pipe and a bigger carb.
for suspension, get some wider a-arms and axle, then match it with good shocks.

I heard the rule, but im new, ill get pics soon, i was wondering if you can put a mid-80s yz490cc engine in a blaster frame without cutting it all up. i ride a 2000 blasty. fmf gold series fatty pipe, and powercore2 silencer. 40cc big bore. i want to put in a different engine cuz my engine seized up and i cant bore it out anymore =/

well you should start your own thread, but did you have to get a new cylinder to do that "40cc big bore" or was that just a trip to the machine shop.


and you'll have to cut/weld on the frame to put a yz490 in it, its kinda one of those things, if you have to ask, you're probably not ready to tackle it. there are lots of pics of some 400 swaps which i believe are very similar.

allright tried to upload a photo but kept saying failed, i even reduced its size way down to 60.5KB and like 314x240 still says failed. any ideas? this dinosuar doesn't do computer problems very well
