I have a 1998 blaster and i think the piston skirt broke off (thats what pepole on here told me). They said i would probally have to bore it out or buy new cylinder... which way would be cheapest and easier to do?

i think u should just bore it unless u find one on ebay really cheap but if u do buy one off of ebay u still might have to bore it

i would go 10 over to 40 over at the most but i wouldent go any further than that but u might get on ebay and find a 240 kit really cheap

well, first of all if you dropped a skirt then you need to rip the whole thing apart. dropping a skirt like that is never good. it tends to beat everything below the piston up. it can crack cases and get lots of junk in the crank bearings.

and don't go buying pistons on a whim. take the damn thing to a reputable machine shop and let a professional measure it and recommend the size piston you should get. never ask the internet what size you need. we have no idea because we haven't measured it...

Backing up what Jon said, if you have dropped a piston skirt, you need to split the cases to inspect and clean.

As to the rebore, have it measured and get it bored to the next size enough to clean up the damage.
