hi i have a 2000 blaster and when i rode today the engine seized up then came out of it and then it wouldnt start so i put it in 1st gear and i could push it, it was like there was barely any compression but when i kicked it over i could feel the compression. so i brought it home and i had a big leak in the base gasket, would that be why i could push it in gear?. when i took the cylinder off the base gasket was missing like half of it and my clutch cover gasket is leaking to. what is the problem

yea thats what i was thinking but my engines all apart. and i was thinkin just to get new gaskets then do the test since there only 15 bucks

buy a cometic gasket kit, check compression with a screw in compression tester if its in the low 100s check the cylinder for wear if its worn out get it bored to the next size over and get a forged piston to match (wiseco), then do a leakdown test and make sure theres no leaks buy it from slickerthanyou or make your own.

the base gasket leak is what killed your motor. It was a massive air leak. any air leak on the motor will make the engine run lean, therefore causing it to run hot and have less lube. Running lean will severly decrease the life of your top end.
