getting my cylinder on weds having a 240 sleeve put in it and it is a stock jug i will be doing the port work on the weekend and hope to have it in by sunday now all i have is a stock carb for right now and i was woundering what i should put the jetting at? i also have a fmf fatty pipe and carbon fiber reeds and no airbox just a filter off the carb at least till i get money for a airbox and will be doin a +4 timing advance on it. i just want to make shere to have it jetted close for the breaK in period so i dont f*** up my brand new topend that would not be good lol

read my mods, i dont have porting yet and was running a 320 jet in my stock carb, not sure how big stock jets go, but i'm thinkin you need to go to a bigger carb, getting ported soon so put my 34mm pj carb on today

Dude, Do you have at least a 5in. hose that coming off the carb and then a clamp on filter? It makes it have more air if you have that 5in. hose then clamp on.....

no i dont but if i really need to do that for the break in i can fab something up but again what should my jetting be or does it not matter just put the carb on and break it in?

whoa!!! Jetting matters. Don't just put the carb on witht the jetting that you were running before your rebuild.

id say for a stock carb on a 240 ported cylinder you're gonna need a bigger pilot jet (which i have one paid $13, send to you for $12, genuine yamaha/mikuni) and prolly the biggest main jet you can find (350+) and the needle clip way down, 1st or second clip positin from the bottom to richen the midrange, if you put that stock jetted carb on there your gonna fry all your new sh*t, your builder shoulda suggested some carbs/jetting for you, in my honest opinion i'd say you need a 34mm carb, jetted properly,<<< you better search and learn 'bout that for the carb you use

well when i got my work done by my builder he suggested i get a 35mm PWK airstryker and i dont even have a big bore or stroker crank yet so i say you get a 35mm.
i ended up getting a 34mm pj because the airstrykers are too expensive

ok thanks for all the help and well im the engine builder i many build 4 strokes this is my first 2 stroke but the 4 strokes i build are 5hp briggs and stratton engines but i build them up to the max and i have put out about 55hp in them which the motor in my profile pic is one of them neck snaping engines i also have a whole box of jets for the carb well there my buddys but he said i can use them so sweet lol

i also have a inertia dyno that i used for my gokart racing engines and sense i can't find anyone to buy the dang thing i might as well make it so i can mount up blaster engines and dyno them out and i also have a flowbench so i can flow the carb and the cylinder but i have to sit down and figure out how to mount the cylinder up to it
