ok i was ripping down my friends straight away and my blaster all the sudden just starts stalling and smoking outrageously bad. when i stopped it just smeeled like burned rubber. i tried to start it again and it was real easy to kick and it started up, but i heard a bad grinding sound and i shut it right off. then i pushed it back to the house and took the plug out and it is dark Grey and full of little like balls of metal. im not too good with motors lol but i KNOW this isn't good. PLEASE help any way you can. it was also hard to shift after it happened. took like 10 minutes to get it into neutral.

sounds like maybe crank bearings and seals to me! ^ but also agree, youll just have to take it apart and check it out

it could be either, you're going to have to have to take it apart and look in it, see if you did any damage, easiest would be to check the crank.

^ yes, the piston may have come apart and lost compression dumping a lil oil/gas past crank into bottom end!(hence the color and smell of oil you drained) Tare it apart and let us know what you find!

i agree that does sound like a piston problem... chances are you going to have to get it bored and buy another piston get a wiesco

id bet its the piston, when you ripped down the straight away you had it pinned for a while, running a little lean and getting hot... the piston melted/came apart and the smoke was unburnt fuel/oil coming past the piston, and the metal on the plug is parts of the piston...ive made the mistake before, if the jetting isnt just right, runnint wide open for more than a few seconds can lead to major damage

i had post a thread on her about 6 months ago about the balls i found 2 in my plug piston went replace piston never was sure if the balls came from the piston and then lost spark. (think it was tors now) slaped it back together with new piston and put it on ebay

Prolly a piston maybe just rings but its prolly not ne thing to do with gears cause I cant see how ne thing from your tranny is going to get all the way up inot your topend. I may be wrong as this has never happened to me before. But let us know what it is, if its the piston I would highly highly recommend putting a wiseco in there and Ill almost guarantee you will not run into a piston failure with a wiseco. Hopefully its not your crank cause then you will deffinatly know how to work on a motor when your done.

Well you could of lost compression because of the piston, not cause a hole in it, but the rings could be stuck to the piston. If you have a crank seal go out and eats up your rod bearings and makes the motor smoke bad and then eat every thing up in the top end. I know this feeling first hand...

i have the jets that came with the toomey kit and its been on there for a while and been pinned wide open a good 150 times. why would it do that just this time?

i will deffinatly rip the topend off soon and see whats up. is it a biotch to get in there or am i gonna be good?

its not too bad, you can look in the top and tell if you f*cked sh*t up, check the side of the cylinder wall, see if it is all tore up, if it is, you will need to hone/bore it, haven't had the luxury to do this yet, hope i don't anytime soon, lol, sorry to see this happen.

what colour was the smoke? if white, you blew the crank seal and you were burning transmision oil. that causes alot of white smoke and kills performance so it would bog down. sounds like your issue. you may have also killed the crank bearing and thats what the grinding and metal balls are.

sounds pretty rough eh, but thats what im thinking.

that all makes sense it was very thick white smoke. smelled like burning rubber or plastic.

def will soon as it happens. picking it up from my buddys in the morning

the crank seal wont make it easy to kick over, but guess youll see when you tear it apart, its easy just take off the gas tank and pipe, then take the 4 nuts off around the base of the cylender unhook the carb and sparkplug wire n pull it off, then once on the ground take the head bolts off
