i took the head off of my 96 blaster 2 look at my piston it is all cracked and chipped away this could be why my bike wont start right and how much is a new piston

with the piston looking like you described it you most likely need a whole top end rebuild which means you have to bore and hone the cylinder and get a new piston, the whole job will run somewhere around 200

To do it yourself is pretty hard you have to do it perfectly
the 200 price i said is all the labor the bore and hone with the piston.
What boring the cylinder is, basically you drill the cylinder a big bigger to remove scratch marks and stuff like that, its more or less cleaning it out. If you don't do that it can mess up the new piston or not run at all

Well no one on here can really do it except for an engine builder. There is a man named Angus Kennedy, he owns kennedy powersports, its about an hour and a half from toledo.
