Hey Guys,
bought my used 2000 Blaster few days ago! Now after a closer look on it i saw that there are a few parts/hoses Missing!! Could you help me out to identify them??
I also have a few differnent, maybe, stupid questions! I allready found out that the Transmission needs Oil, what kind should i use?? What happen with the Engine? How does the engine getting his oil? Via the Fuel? If with the Fuel what kind and in what mixture?? Or is there a oil tank on the Blaster if yes where should it be?? because there is nothing!!

Okay here are some Pictures!

okay under the carburator is this small metal hose (red circel) what comes on there?? and what happen with the Hose (red arrow) where should that go

okay here the same what comes on those both?? (red circel)

somebody cut out the airbox! is there a mod or somerhing like that what i could do??? or just to buy a new fender???

I know the silencer is missing!! I orderd already an FMF! I took the Footrests of to work on the swingarm pivot bolt! Could you see anything else what is missing?? Except the seat, silencer, airbox!!!

ok, the open hoses from the carb are vents, they're fine

the nipple in the case by the reedcage is a transmission overflow, it should have an open hose run up under the hood

the other nipple on the clutch cover is for a water pump on a DT based motor, it should have a plug in it, but if it doesn't, no big deal

if the oil tank is not under the fenders, you should be mixing 2 stroke oil with the fuel at 32:1 (a ratio rite cup makes this a breeze) and yes, the engine gets its oil via the fuel

awsome!! thanks just won an ebay auction for a new fender with airbox in blue for 24,99!! i think thats a good price!

did i have to do something when i run it with pre mix??

when i "turn on" the fuel, then there comes fuel out of the small nippel under the carburator, is that normal???

Gas pours out of the carb onto the ground? If so it sounds like your floats are stuck in your carb and its pouring out of the overflow

No, it isnt normal for fuel to come out the carb with the fuel on. You should pull your carb apart and clean everything out and see if it still does it. If it does, you will need to adjust your float. Most likely its letting too much fuel into the bowl and its overflowing. It could be doing it because either the needle is dirty/not seating properly or the float itself is out of adjustment and needs to be bent down a little bit so it doesnt ride so high (theres guys on here who can tell you how to properly adjust the float on your stock carb - mine isnt a stock carb, its a totally different one so I dont have information relevant to your particular 26mm mikuni (assuming thats what you have)

To run with premix, you just mix your fuel with the 2 stroke oil at a ratio of 32:1 (thats what most of us on here do) and just fill the tank with the premixed fuel and run it.

wow thanks again guys,

then i know what i have to do tomorrow!!

Ihno

ps. sry for my bad english^^ :-) i´m normaly from germany and just live for 4 years in the states!!

Hey guys,

i just took the carb apart and cleaned it up! but its still leaking! and its also no Mikumi!!

Its a Keihin Carb!! i dont know what size! where could i find the size??? i also dont know what kind of needle is in there!

what should i do now???

Ihno

ok, its a PE series carb, probably a 28mm. should be a pretty good carb for you. you just need to make sure that it's jetted correctly

okay!! how i should do that??
at the moment i have no airbox/airfilter/silencer!!
the airbox is on the way, same with the airfilter and a FMF silencer!!
and i still couldnt figure out why it is leaking!

you need to check the float height, and the needle/seat.

as for the jetting, you need to get the intake tract, and silencer put on, then do some plug chops, read through some of the recent jetting threads, and that should get you in the neighborhood

allright!! thank you very much for your support!! i think thats gonna be a long night for me!!
or is there any kind of standard where i could start with??

Its not a PWK most likely. Looks like a PJ29 to me. Could be something else.

Keihin jetting is its own thing, and it depends on the size of the carb and the model and your elevation and mods as to where you should start with the jetting.

Just for sh*ts and giggles though, pull the bowl off the carb again and use a small bladed flathead screwdriver and pull out your pilot jet. Use a 6mm nutdriver/socket to remove the main jet. And finally see if you can find the 3 digit code for your needle on the needle itself.

And the carb SHOULD have a series number on it. It should say PWK, or PJ, or whatever on there if its a Keihin. It doesnt look like a PWK to me though.
