ok so sborns on here just got his bike rebuilt we put my toomey on it and jetting it just like i had mine when i had the toomey 340 main needle in 3rd clip and stock pilot

here is the deal is runs great but sometimes (not all the time) under load and at take off it just bogs and wants to die like its not getting fuel

i know its jetting pretty close but i am stumped on why its doing this he has v force reeds and they seem to be good

its getting good fuel flow

i have had the carb apart many times and everything looks good in there also

i am about to put a set of stock reeds in and see what that does

any ideas

still cant get it tried stock reeds needle from 2nd clip to the bottom 1/4 throttle just bogs and dies under load....at idle it revs fine.....could it be to rich or lean of main

sounds like its lean, bump up the pilot jet or play with the jet needle a bit and see what happens. Could be that the pilot jet is clogged as well.

tried every clip on the needle

since i can get a pilot any where i might try to bore the one out i have

your sure its gettin fuel?
bump up the jets some to richen it out i guess.
what does the plug look like? try a new one for the hell of it.

I'm sure you didn't do this but I did, so I'll toss it in for laughs. I put a wadded up paper towel in the exhaust port so crap wouldn't get in the cylinder while I was workin on stuff. Guess it wuz in far enough I didn't notice it when I put the pipe on. Caused some weird performance issues! It would wander round the expansion chamber and randomly plug things up under load.. Tried 3 carbs, another CDI, timing change, another leak down and figured I'd really screwed up the porting before I figured it out....LOL...No one else would admit this...burp

When common sense doesn't work, it might not be common, or sensible :)
