I bought my 03 blaster not too long ago, it doesn't have too many performance parts besides an fmf silencer and gold series fatty, it also has a silver reed spacer (stock reeds and cage) This is the only things that have been done to it.

The blaster has seemed like it has been running rich down low since iv bought it, i checked to clean out the carb one day and for some reason the kid before me had put a 240 jet in it, isn't that one up from stock?? Why did he do that? does it really need a larger main jet for that LITTLE bit of stuff that is done to it? Or can i just put a stock 230 jet back into it, i don't know why he did that.

The plug looks to be pretty black (running rich) like i thought.

if its rich on the bottom end of the throttle its the pilot jet mine had a 250 main with just a fmf pipe an uni filter so 240 dosent sound bad

i currently have a 240 jet in mine as well.. seems perfect for me, if its super rich check and see if he moved the needle setting, stock is the 3rd clip from the top.

Ok, yah ill have to check that out, so it should be the 3rd clip down from the top is standard?

I dont know what else it could be, i believe the pilot jet is stock, although i never checked it. I have know idea why the kid would change that one because that would definitely be unnecessary.

If the needle hasn't moved then the 1st thing ill check is the pilot.

yeah and 3rd down is factory setting, i moved mine to the 4th before when i first started fine tuning the engine and i thought it was great but all of a sudden it started acting all sh*tty and would flood baaaaaaad. so i moved it back to the 3rd and my blasty hauls ass.

ic, ill check that out tomaro, also my bike when started when cold runs at very high idle, like its being fed wayy too muhc gas, could that be the cause of this as well?

Be carefull, FMF says 260 with a fatty. When I bought my Blaster it had a fatty, 230 main jet and a melted piston. 280 seems to work well for me with mild porting, fatty, K&N with no lid at 700'-1000' alt.

Jetting can be a strange thing. I run the same stock 26mm mikunis on my Banshee with the same mods but it takes 310 main jets.
