help adjusting clutch

okay i have my spare engine on the table to help practive aligning the clutch lever using the push rod. I took the nut off pushed the lever forward and turned the rod clockqwise until the arrows alighed on the lever arm and case mark. I put the nut on and snug it. it seems tight and when i try and push the lever forward by hand it stops at the alighing mark and doensn't engae the clutch. what do you think im doing wrong?

its got the springs in it? its really hard to push those springs out with out leverage. pushing it forward will disenguage the clutch.

springs are in. The lever isn't moving past the alighment mark. Did I back the rod out to far?

If you did everything according to the manual you should be golden. You have five stiff springs and a little arm, not much leverage. Add the length of the clutch lever then you can.
