Yea after my heat cycles all the bolts were still properly torqued. I follow this routine with all new top ends so it's not a big deal for me. I went from 48 to 55 on my pilot and 150 to 165 on my main. I'll dial
it in Saturday.

what is it that makes that more annoying pronounced higher ticking noise?

It got louder when I installed my boyesen reeds so I assumed that was it. It's sounded the same for the last year and really rips! I can't wait to get it dialed on with the new port job!

same here. mine has always done it even before and after when it was completely rebuilt new crank and all, just wondering why. Tried searching all i've found is some people saying bad bearings. Oh well, not the only one i've heard doing it. can't be too bad.

My bearing were brand new so I knot it's not that. It's the reeds opening and closing.

i wonder why it's so pronounced on our quads. i don't seem to hear it on most other two strokes.

Maybe some one else can answer that. All I know is it been making the same sounds since a complete rebuild a year ago. It runs great and has given no problems for about 45 hours of ride time.

I wouldn't worry about the noise one bit especially with knowing the bearings and piston are new.
FWIW pro weed wacker motors can gain up to 1hp (25%) from the bearings loosening up and the seals realising their death grip on the crank after break in.
They get noisier too.

I'm not concerned a bit with it. It been that was since
Ive owned it and it runs like a champ. I can't wait to see what the port job is going to give me!
