Hello i have a 2002 blaster. The headlight is a generator one, that goes off the engine to light it up. I currently have NO battery. How hard would it be to put a regular big headlight on there and put a battery in?
a battery will add extra weight... and whats wrong with the generator one? its only dimmer at idle, and when do u need a light when ur not moving? if ur worried about it turn the idle up lol
Batteries are simple, you need a rectifier, a battery and a little wire.
Pull the flywheel and stator. the front coil is the lighting coil. One end of the wire is screwed to the stator plate. unscrew it and connect it to a new wire ad run that up with the rest of the wires. make sure you shrink tube it so it doesnt short. then hook up the rectifier per directions. 2 hour job and under $75 bucks.
Short or adding a battery and getting the stator rewound, This light with a 35 watt bulb will make an incredible difference. Light is much more a factor of the relector and lens than bulb wattage. This light has a very good beam pattern and is a cross between a driving light and a spot/pencil beam. You can probably do the whole setup if yo make your own mount for under $50. This light compares really well to a $200+ hella or cibie for a fraction of the cost.
