headlight question

if i cut the wires to my tail light, would that affect my headlight? i never had a working headlight, put in the new light socket, cuz the taillight wires and it still doesnt work. does it have to be a continous circuit? is that why my light doesnt work lol

the taillight has nuthin to do with the headlight, i haven't hooked up my led's to my cfm airbox yet, and my headlight still works, make sure the taillight wires aren't touching the frame or each other
