i just noticed that when i start my quad up it shoots a puff of exhaust out by the head gaskets and was wondering is this making me loose power and should it be torqued
Yes it needs to be torked. Headgasket is also important, after you break it in you need to re tork it. When we built ours i used a little rtv sealear high temp so i didn't have to re tork it. If its leaking i would take it apart and use gasket maker on both sides, because you will loose copression there. Or buy a new head gasket 10.00 or less.
okay for sure cuz i realized it leking oil from the had or something and
it seemd to have more compression at first when i test rode it and realized its leaking know ,
If the leak is bad enough, the quad won't even run...
I've had issues in the past w/ those nuts backing themselves out. Its pretty easy to diagnose the problem though.. Mine would make loud squeaking sounds as the air blows out...
Just make sure the gasket hasn't been damaged from the escaping air..
