Hey, wonderin if anyone has done any of the following

1. 450r rear shock, know alot have the 400ex shock not sure if its different, btw +4 swinger

2. +4 swingarm chain length?

3. raptor rear brakes?

4. wraped the exhaust?

5. 240 cyl looks like stock? has 2.83" bore roughly 72mm but looks like an original confused...

6. trimmed down the rats nest of a wiring harness? no oil inj, no lights, no tors.. what do i cut lol

Thanks!

i think that those shocks will fit with a lil bit of work but im no expert with wiring so i'll let someone else chime in...Btw welcome to the forum!!!!!!!!!

I took out the TORS and oil injection wires when i had mine tore apart. I untaped the whole harness then traced the wires and compared it to the diagram in a clymer manual. If you just take your time and make sure you don't remove anything you will need its pretty simple, there is only a place or two where some wires are spliced together that can get confusing.

As for the harness I just unwrapped mine removed all the wires for the tors and the oil injection and just rewrapped the harness didnt take all that long. I would leave the lights unless you dont plan on doing any night riding.

I dont recommend wrapping the exhaust. the head pipe is essential on a 2stroke and wrapping it I think would mess up the heat transfer of the pipe.

The rest I dont know about but someone will.

ya i was afraid of that with the pipe. just looks like crap so i thought id hide it hahaha

the tors and oil and lights were gone when i go this basket case so guess the wires that go nowhere will be what gets cut lol

Well what i did was like I said unwrapped the tape around the harness to where the wires I want to cut out then rewrapped it from the back to the front as I took out the wires as needed. following the way it was when I started meaning the way the wires where split and stuff.

For your head pipe I would wire wheel it and paint it with high temp black paint.

1. 450r rear shock, know alot have the 400ex shock not sure if its different, btw +4 swinger...either will work with a little work

2. +4 swingarm chain length?....get a 520x 114 or longer and cut it to what you need

3. raptor rear brakes? any brake can work with fab work.....look in to a gsxr raer caliper and shee resi and master

4. wraped the exhaust? why???

5. 240 cyl looks like stock? has 2.83" bore roughly 72mm but looks like an original confused...

6. trimmed down the rats nest of a wiring harness? no oil inj, no lights, no tors.. what do i cut lol...un wrapp it and get rid of what you dont need

Thanks!

i have an 05 trx450r rear shock, but found it was rubbing the airbox and wearing thru the resivour, so i went to a cfm airbox which left more room, some guys trim the stock airbox too??? here's the thread on it..........

sweet.. good thing cause its already ordered lol.... got anymore pics of that airbox?

anyone got anything on the cyl? Ill try to get a pic tmrw... do they make a sleeve kit to fit in a stock cyl?

yeah heres a link to all my pics, look through them there should be more pics of the airbox....Pictures by awk08 - Photobucket..........
and i can get more for ya tomorrow
and i do think they make a 240 sleeve for the stock jug????

^^ la sleve makes a sleve that fits in the stock jug so it would look normal and i aswell have a 450r shock and i like it talk to the man above me and he'll tell u what to do

ahh ok i found that sleeve just now. Stopped at a local shop to have the flywheel pulled and check the bore size (didnt trust my calipers) and he said the guy who ported it made the transfer ports to large and now the bottom of the jug will get to hot and cause the piston to melt down? anyone else opinion here?

for a +4 swinger i have an 110 link RK race chain and i cut out what i didn't need, make sure you get the clip master link, not the smash together one.
