has anyone tried to......

If you have a friend with a lathe, you can easily do it yourself. Spare heads are like $23 shipped on ebay, and the power increase is Huge!

Yeah I'm looking for a lathe to either use or buy now. What is everyone's opinions on the best type of head?

If you can borrow a lathe, that would actually be much more cost effective than purchasing one to do a head. However...If you check on craigs list,or ask around,I'm sure you would have some luck finding one at a reasonable price, but I would only purchase one if I planned on using it alot. They are fun,and if you've never used one before, you will learn alot. My lathes have been indispensable to me. I couldn't live without one. A small mill is the same way. I don't go to somebody else to make a part,or repair one. Thats the neat part... I'm not reliant on somebody else.

Anyway...The hemispherical chamber is easy to do,and works very well.I know you will be very impressed with it. keep the squish band at 11 degrees, and about 50% of the bore size. Keep the chamber size anywhere between 18cc to 23cc,and you can run the premium pump fuel with ease. No need for race fuel (save your money for the lathe). You can always experiment with different shapes at a later date.

I have used a brake lathe before so I have the basics n I would love to get one so I can do all the same mods and repairs myself. I don't mind having someone else do the work for me, I just don't have the money to pay them to do it lol. I am looking long term not what would be fastest n easiest.
