The '01 Blasty in my avatar needs to be ALOT quicker. It's a drag race only ride now, so please post what you think we need to do to make some crazy horsepower. I've got some 4-strokes at the tracks in NC & SC where we run that need to be taught a lesson! What about a small dry shot say maybe a 10hp? Anyone ever used squeeze on a Blasty before? I'd love to run a turbo off one my Buicks, but that would be like cutting off one of my sons' arms! Weigh in on this topic please so I can spend the $$ on the right stuff the first time. Thanks guys.

ok i'll throw in some knowledge/opinions here......

here's the biggest problem with running nitrous on a 2 stroke, a good nitrous tuneup (for all the guys going fast) is one where you pull a little more timing and clean up the plug, a lot. this is death for an air cooled 2 stroke motor, and nitrous turns oil into a blowtorch and eats pistons and sh*t.

a turbo can work, but a GN turbo would be much too large, the little blaster motor wouldn't be able to spool it. and then you'd also have to devise a way to supply oil to the turbo.

what i would do is get a really serious drag race port job, run it on methanol (or M5), you'll want to put an msd ignition on it, extend the front of the frame 12-16 inches, and put a +6 or +8 swingarm on it. they also make some aluminum axles and stuff that you can put on it to shave some weight, lose the front brakes and just put on spindle mount wheels.

you'll want to put some lightweight rims, larger rear tires, probably beef up the clutch so it can handle the motor, and all of what brando said
edit: and get a drag pipe, i like this one

ditch the front fenders and mayeb cut the rears down, run a clamp on filter, maybe for the tired u can run some dirt paddles or aggressive mud tires, prolly ditch the heel guards and all that crap, get rid of every un needed part like grab bar, maybe get some drag bars, lots small crap to shave off all the extra weight

another thought after thinking about it for a little bit......

you're going to want to make it an "over-ride" transmission and get a "lock out" clutch

this way you can really control the power and where/how it applies.

another thing too is to run a standard chain, not an o ring chain, takes less power to turn

Now that's the insight I was looking for. Thanks for everyone's input. I didn't think our little Blaster engines could handle the stress from spraying them, but I just had to ask. As for putting a hairdryer on it, I was just messin' with you guys.
We've already got another stock swinger that's getting extended 8" and the Kenda Dominators in the picture have had every other row of lugs removed and studs will soon be screwed into the remaining lugs so as to use them on hard packed tracks. We've also got a new pair of Maxxis Razr Blade snow tires on Douglas rims to use when we race on softer/sandy type tracks.
I've always believed in the stealth look (we've got Grand Nationals running high 10's @ 120+ in the quarter that are "stock appearing"), so stretching the front end & chopping up/removing body panels is not an option.
I checked out the RDZ pipe & am pretty much set on using it, but needed to see what engine upgrades you Blasty veterans thought would make big HP. I'll be contacting Angus in the next couple of weeks in regards to a full on rebuild as it seems he really knows his stuff. Keep 'em coming guys & thanks again.
