I have raced a lot of different things ,
Cycles... Motocross ,Enduros , Flatrack Dragraced 1/8 mile,
Karts... Dirt and Paved Ovals , Enduro roadcourses ...
Cars Drag raced 1/8 mile and 1/4 mile.
I have managed to do quite well( I have the awards to prove it) in anything that I choose to race. Some buddies and I have got together and built a track thru the woods and an 1/8 mile dirt oval on 80 acres. That's where the BLASTER comes in !
Most everyone in our group has a 4 stroke big bore ATV. Not me ,I got this "TOY" ATV as they call it . Ive got something that I have used for years to beat others with for years....
Brakes. Im using EBC extreme pads. Ok everyone has brakes, but how well do they stop ? Who cares ? You should ..you cant go any faster than you can stop. That should be the 1ST thing that you fix ,not the last. I don't know how many time I outran someone because my brakes worked flawless. That means they did not drag , grab, fade the most important being fade. I have always used the largest brakes I could put on my ride. Everyone has brakes at the start of the race ,right , how about the end. But you don't need brakes to go fast you say . That's correct..but in front of my house is a" hill." If you coast down it on anything you will hit 60 MPH ! The hill is less than an 1/8 mile and at the bottom is a house with a T intersection. I have seen just about any kind of thing come down that hill and not make the stop sign. You name it . In fact the house that the road stops at has had its fence torn down 4 time, the fence is on top of a ditch and a 15 foot hill.
