hello i froze my blaster up about 6 months ago, i finally got the time to tear it apart today. but instead of the top end being froze its the conecting rod. wen i push on the kicker it moves till the connecting rod hits the wall and when i tore it a part small pieces of metal came out. i was wondering if any one knew if it was just a bearing that i needed or the conecting rod or the whole bottom end? i dint have time to tear it all apart as i had to set up a fireworks show. but if anyone has had the same problem or could give me advice it would be greatly appreciated thank you and happy forth of july.:)

If there was metal coming out i would say you will need a new crank and connecting rod... I had a main crank bearing go bad on a snowmobile and I had to replace the entire crank and connecting rods. That sucks.

yea there was metal coming out =[ but i decided since i have the money im totally gonna redoo the engine with a 4mm vitos crank and wiseco prolite piston port and polish for track racing. im just gonna totally redo it for racing

id suggest a +3 vitos crank. i think you mean +4 hot rods. with the +4 you have to trench the cases, the +3's just require a little clearence adjustments in the top part of the crank case to alow for the rod end to pass.

FYI - The old crank isn't garbage. You just need to buy a new connecting rod kit and have the crank rebuilt. Usually $100 for the rod kit and $50 labor will get the job done. Even though you're going with a stroker crank, someone else could probably use your old one. A friend of mine has had two Yamaha Tri-Z cranks rebuilt...$150 total for each.

any hard knocks on a conrod render it damaged or weakened to a degree and will fail at some point, i advise you replace it too. i assume it froze while riding so it probably buggered the sleeve as well?

thats what i meant was the 3mm i hitr the wrong key and i saw that i could rebuild it i do alot of engine building im 15 working in a dirt bike and quad shop but i didnt see ne thing like this b4 till my cousin told me but thanks for the advice and i can by a vitos for 150 dollars and put it in myself whaich is the same price as rebuilding a stocker and it didnt lock up till it sat for like 5 minuetes i kicked it over and it died and wouldnt kick but there is no damage to the wall but im going to hone it out and port and polish it once my grandpa teaches me how so it should be ok. thanks for the advice tho =]
