i was looking on ebay and they offee Diamond J Customs Shocks Only Widening Kits. could i purchase one of these and then put on a longer better shock or will i still need more fabrication?

If you search the forum you will see that a lot of people would suggest not using that kit, for several reasons. Those kits mess up the geometry of the front suspension, and actually can even decrease the handling of the quad, since it is making the front part of the frame wider apart. If you read the previous threads you will understand more, as it is explained in detail.

IMO I would say save your money for some aftermarket a arms and a better set of shocks, I'm sure you'd be much happier.

i thought about this also......just the shock relocation kit not the a arm kit....i would think it would work and you could run like a 450 shock

im gonna have to dissagree with you man.

My nephew has it on his blaster and i havent felt anything bad about it. it does NOT decrease the handling,it does make it better. And to add, this kit is not weak..ive hit jumps wide open and landed without a break or bend..and im not a small guy. Is it a cheap way out of extended a-arms..yes...is it a bad choice...no.

My OPINION will stay positive about this untill the day im proved wrong...and no not by theory,by actual proof of pics and breaking. The kit has been on for 2years now and its a good upgrade. but everyone has there on opinion, that just mine.

i agree i have never seen pics of one broke or bent.....

dude i beat the hell outta my kit before my aarms.....and the only issue i had was a bent tie rod extension......(which are junk) lol...but it wasnt too bad

just use a diamond j lowering kit, and u can run yfz 450 shocks, it says on their site that it is a lowering/shock conversion kit , it just makes the top mounts taller, therefor, u can run a longer shock, try it man, idk if it will work though.

i have these on my balster i am doing now and they hsould work with a larger shock the bring them out 2.5 inches ore something like that

it will work if u have the shock conversion kit......its a seperate setup from the standard widening kit.....but u will be able to use all kinds of diffrent shocks

I read the post wrong at first and thought he meant the complete widening kit. The shock kit looks like it would work good, but seems pretty expensive for what it is. Is the little bit of extra length on the shocks worth $90 for the kit? I'm not trying to bash it I just don't understand how beneficial it would be, when that money could go towards better shocks.

I've seen them on 350 raptors and they seem to hold up racing with big jumps, at least hve not seen any fail. I also seen at least 2 people buy the cheaper wider (a-arms) for the blaster and they buckled on the jumps and sent the rider over the handlebars.
