Just rebuilt my stock top end and went in smooth but when running it rattles more thethn normal and has week power. White smoke and have trouble keeping it running. inking maybe the crank is bad as when had the piston of it had alot of play side to side. Any other ideas? I did play with the carb but I dont think thats the issue

Finding out why it blew the 1st time would be my 1st question 1st blaster. 1st time I fried my 1st blaster it was from an airleak. I shoulda done a leakdown test. Keep us updated as to why u fried your 1st blaster 1stblaster! Lower rod bearing peices may have been the culpret.

Ok, you bought it non running. Why did it not run? What did you do to get it running?

I must need glasses, cause I can't see if a piston has .0025 or .004 clearance.

Says its top end clearence issue and it will be 160 labor plus parts. He will take apart and let me know monday what it will take

So Sat I took my quad to the shop and he said its clearance problem and he will need to take the top of to see whats needed. He then said drive it to the back and I will call you Monday to qoute you the fix. He calls as said on monday and says your motor is siezed and will need completly rebuilt but for 900 bucks i can fix the bottom and top. So I am just a little confused how I can bring a RUNNING quad to the shop and then get back a siezed motor?????? Ok I get that it had a clearence prob hence I brought it to the shop but is it right for me to get back the quad more damaged then when I brought it in???

ummm thats some bs right there... also u could get a whole blaster for $900.. sounds like a scumbag

Ya I agree and get he is on crack and plan to buy my buddies motor for 300 that runs great but I am more then upset that he some how seized it and then had the balls to quote me some stupid price to fix it.

Yeah I dunno about all that... I just did some math. Main bearings-50, crank rebuilt by sicivic's guy 99, piston 89 shipped from rjatv, bore job-40, gaskets about 15. Total 293! I'm about to start doin total rebuilds for 500 bucks! Haha. Anyways if it was running I can't see how he can tell you it was seized. I would tell him you don't have money and go get it back. Maybe you can find someone else local that can treat you right or call mr ken o canna at ken o canna racing!

maybe he was just trying to scare you into the repair but who knows.. just go get your stuff and never ever go back lol

LOL ya I never had any intention of paying the tard but the point is he seized my motor..... I paid him nothing but its siezed....

This so called professional took my motor and seized it and said oh here is your quad back unless you want me to fix it. LOL who gives a sh!t anyway guess now I have no choice now but to build the stroker I have been wanting. Just wound how I am going to separate a seized motor........

Inspect it when you get it. Maybe its not seized they just want to do a complete rebuild. If it is seizewd you can argue that they did it. Its kinda fishy ya smell...

There is seized and then there is SEIZED UP!!! It may not be cranking over too well, which one may consider seized, although things do move, just not smoothly. It could have happened just when you rode the thing around back....should have pushed it.

I wouldn't pay 900 for a rebuild, buy a manual and do it yourself!! You can get a good running motor for less than 900.

For sure, I will be buying these parts myself and doing the rebuild. I am going with the stroker crank and big bore top end. Also will have to buy a larger carb and better filter.
