Won't that thing be wanting leaded gas?? Nice find though, I love big old steel!!

Buy an aussie locker for the rear axle....http://www.offroadlockers.com/ It's a lunchbox locker, meaning you just replace the spiders with this and you're locked. cheaper than a full detroit and does the same thing!! Both of my DDs are locked, one with detroits front and rear, the other with an aussie locker in the rear. The detroits are nicer...more quiet, engages more smoothly (99% of the time, believe it or not) and it's a detroit! Aussie isn't bad at all though, espeically for the price.

TH400 is a good tranny. Got a shift kit in it? Why not a rachet shifter? Those are bad ass! My buddy has an 81 Monte Carlo LS with a caddy 502 v8, TH400, and a new 10 bolt every time he gets on the gas!! It's got dual exhaust that goes into a single rear tailpipe...total sleeper. I keep telling him he needs a 12 or 14 bolt....he's lazy and likes just bolting in direct replacements!!
