Got motor apart today and found out that the right side of the crank case is cracked. If anyone has one I'm in need now.. It's a 2001 model. Going to try and tig weld it if I can but I'm still looking for one. It's cracked in 2 places, 1 isn't really bad the other is a pretty good crack. The guy that tore it apart for me said it could be tig welded, what do you guys think.. Ever fixed one like that?

i've had that happen twice. both caused by the intake piston skirt. i had the first crack welded up on the left case and it works great. but the second time, it happened on the right side and a big chunk broke off and i had to replace it. i have seen some on ebay, thats where i got mine for under $60 used.
I"m getting this one welded back up... a guy has it right now and should be done with it any time.
