my flywheel is shearing my woodruff key. and spining freely. i have a vitos 3 mil crank shaft would that be the problem? it only runs for about 30 seconds then spins freely

Yeah you need an impact gun and about 3 seconds to tighten it up right.
Now if you already did that and still shear keys it's because the crank and the flywheel are not mating together correctly.
If thats the case you need to take some grinders grease and wipe it all around the crank,
and hand spin the flywheel on it with some muscle pushing it into the crank.

first thing you want to do is pull everything back off, flywheel, stator so just the end is there, get some lapping compound and smear it on the crank and then slide the flywheel back on, pull it off rotate it 180 and slide it back on, now push it on hard with your hand and rotate it back and forth, slide it off rotate it a little and repeat this process until the crank and flywheel are a dull grey the entire area where they seat, by rites you can run them without a key they are only there for location but like the gent before me they run like 60 or so foot lbs. and you want ever bit of that, don't use an impact to tighten it.

if the torque is 60 ft. lbs. how do you get that? but if I didn't have a torque wrench and was at my buddies and thats all he had then thats what would happen because it needs to be tight

Great write up Gonzo and Paulie
That's the same way I have fixed the matting issue in the past
Follow their advice and pick up course lapping compound from any auto parts store.......
