Finished honing, should I bore?

Here is my cylinder that I just finished sandblasting, painting, and honing. This area didn't quite clean up and I'm worried it might cause problems once I get the motor back together such as low compression or the piston having a short life. When I run my finger across the area, I feel very little roughness and it doesn't seem like too big of a deal, it's mostly smooth except for a small scratch that I can feel. Was wondering if anyone else can provide their opinion before I get it all back together. Thanks

if you can feel a scratch then deffinetly bore it.

don't take a chance, just get it bored to the next size to clean the cylinder up.

looks like little pieces of your piston are broke off so i would suggest cleaning out the bottom end

Yeah, I'm doing that right now little by little. I bought a house so I want to wait until my garage is set up nice before I go loosing parts during the move

Has anyone had success boring out their cylinder on a bridgeport by themselves?

it may need a bore and may not, check the clearance, thats a bad hone looks like you done it with a ball hone, not good if theres no scoring above the exhaust dont worry, but like they said it cannot have hi-spots, it looks like it got real lean better check the mag crank seal

As far as I can feel there are no high spots. I guess I'll try to hone some more but I don't want to take off too much more material.

dont just keep honing until its gone you may end up with .005 clearance or more and then you'll have a clearance problem

Alright well I'm gonna take it to work and bore it out .020, hopefully I can find a boring bar that will be big enough for it.
