hello everyone. i am excited to say i finally got my blaster going. it seems to run pretty good, but if it's not in the power band it seems very lacking. my concern is that it still has the stock jets, so i will list everything that's done to it and coulde you guys give me your oponion on the jets. the complete motor was just rebuilt with the top end bored .010 over with the first over sized piston. it has boysen power reeds, toomie b1 expansion chamber and a dg silincer, and a moose air filter. so i am thinking i probally need bigger jets, what do you guys think? any info woulde be greately appreciated. thanx

yes you need a lot bigger jets! you're probably going to need something between 320-340 with no air lid and DON'T RIDE IT until you rejet, or you'll seize it again

u think so? i think thats a bit fat.....for just the pipe, reeds, and filter and small bore i would go with like a 280, 290

most of the guys running toomey's are up between 310-340 on the jetting i think the kit comes with like a 310 too

so do i need to change the main and the pilot. i really don't know that much about jetting. i just wan't to get it right

and as far as the air box cover goes is there something saffer that i can do besides just removing it. that doesn't seem like a very good idea to me

if you're running through deep mud and stuff, you'll want to keep the lid, and if you're nervous about dirt, there is an outerwears cover for the stock box

so once i put in the bigger jet am i gonna have to change the air screw? if i take the cover off from my air box what if i suck in water or something. is there a better alterntive than just removing it

i live in northern pa and all the snow just melted and it has been raining for a couple of days. belive me it's wet and muddy and it's a blast

Pilot jet should be fine. Air screw should stay somewhere around 1.5 turns out. PULL that main and replace with a 310, especially if ur gonna run with no lid. You can also drill holes in the box and get the UNI plugs, or as mentioned an outerwearz cover for the stock box, all are options, just be careful with mud and water while lid is off. BUT, you have to get rid of that main jet and install a #310, before anymore riding. Also, IMO, get RID of that DG silencer, you are killing that TOOMEY B1 header's design through the DG silencer, get the proper TOOMEY silencer/stinger pipe, absolutely recommended.

No more riding with the current main jet in there, bad things if so!!!!!

the dg silencer isnt hurting it.. the dg part that sucks is the front pipe, not the silencer

Agree the DG headpipe is MUCH worse than the silencer, but the TOOMEY head pipe is engineered for their stinger/silencer, to make the proven dyno power they advertise. Just a recommendation, for sure.

But no, nothing is <hurting> it in current condition, except for that main JET!!! :D
