so i picked up a dg full exhaust for 120 and the silencer was kinda beat up and leaking hence the price lol so i just decided to shorten it up a bit and re pack it, what do u all think??....i will post a video when i get the packing in it

you kinda got ripped, i got a full ct for 140 and what are the advantages of a shortened silencer?
Near the shock by the looks of it. underneath the silencer.
less $$ spent on packing material? no idea lol.
it was a deal for 120 since the pipe alone retails for almost 200 and this one is like brand new aside from the silencer, and cutting the silencer doesnt add anything aside from being alittle louder....i like the looks of it being small, i have cut down the exhaust pipes on some of my past sportbikes... turned out pretty well in the past, if not i will just buy a new silencer
yes there is 2 mouting tabs on the silencer, but im just using the bottom one now, u can see it on the second picture
I have cut my Two Bro's exhaust on my sportbike too, but were talking about a 4stroke vs 2stroke.
well i know fmf offers a shorty silencer aside from their normal one for 2 stroke dirtbikes, i had both shorty and normal one on my 03 cr 250 and only really noticed a sound difference...but we shall see, if i blow the basty up cause of that then i will know not to do that again lol...
You should experience no problems with shortening the muffler, they add nothing to the tuning of the pipe.
ya i just got new packing for the silencer today and put it all together and it kinda has a toomey sound which is cool....neighbors are not a fan but oh well...lol
