I have an 04 Blaster. I just installed a new piston, because my old one cracked. I just started it and it idles like sh*t. I also noticed that there is a black sludge dripping out of the head from the exhaust port. Any help would be great.

its pritty much stock. vitos gasket kit, stock jugg, i replaced the head cuz the old piston f*cked it all up, and pro c exhaust. i dont have the exhaust clamp on so this black sh*t if it is oil is spiting on my kickstart lever and its dripping from my jugg-header flange. so what does have it re jeted mean? thats like in the carb right?
oh and warrior rear end
yeah, what you do is pull the bottom of the carb off and there is a main jet, but you can also adjust the richness from pulling the tors off and moving the clip down on the needle, you have to pull the slide out. first put the rubber gasket on the mid pipe.
whoa whoa, we're getting way too ahead of ourselves here.
when you pulled the pipe to install the new piston, did you replace the crush gasket on reinstallation? you always have to use a fresh crush gasket every time you pull the pipe. this could be the cause of your leaking. also, are you sure the flange is torqued tightly and the spring is installed correctly? make sure the pipe is installed completely right.
i wouldn't mess w/ the carb unless the spark plug tells you to. pull the plug after a minute idle and see what it says.
and to correct some of the mistakes in earlier posts, hick is right in that the needle is NOT in the float bowl area, the jets are. and if you wanted to adjust the needle, you'd need to move the clip UP to lean it out, not down. but the main jet and the needle have no bearing on the jetting at idle. they affect the 1/3 to full throttle range only. to adjust the idle mix you'd need to adjust the air screw on the side of the carb.
also, there's no throttle body on a carburated engine. the throttle body is only on fuel injected machines. it's job is to open and close the intake passage to allow more or less of the engine's vacuum. there is a tps (throttle position sensor) on the throttle body that tells the ecu how much fuel is needed in order to balance the amount of air the throttle body is letting in.
i have never heard of this, where do i get them?whoa whoa, we're getting way too ahead of ourselves here.
