I have an '01 Blaster that ran great!! Then one day it would not return to an idol when the bike stoped. The engine stays just above idol. This happens only when the bike gets hot, when it is cold it idols fine. The plug is burning very lean. I though that there was a air leak. I have replaced the base gasket, reed valve and head gasket. I can not think of any other place it could be leaking air from. Also I have tried adjusting the air fuel screw but it dose not even phase the high rev. Any info on what else to check out would be great.

Thanks alot

Eric

my bike started reving up on me the other day and i noticed i moved the throttle cable a bit and it made it rev up and down some you may wanna check that.. also what carb you running? if stock pull seat off and turn the screw on the top or the tors to get it where you like..

if your tors is still on and is loose on the top of the carb and you wiggle the cable and the engine revs then your tors may be loose or you have an air leak somewhere. mine did this for a while and it ended up being the crank seals went bad. once i got them replaced the problem was fixed but mine backfired sometimes and you could see smoke coming from behing the magneto thats when i knew it was my crank seals. just check em out.

My guess is you have an air leak somewhere. There was a post, maybe in DI
Y section on how to find air leaks.
