engine swap

So i'm in the middle of taking an 04 blaster and adding a bunch of parts to it including an engine that has been rebuilt but it's from an 89 so i noticed that there are 4 stator wires on the older engine and there are 5 on the newer engine can i just swap the stator in order to keep the newer wire harness or do i have to swap harnesses or can i just not plug in the green and white wire

If the 04 stator is good just swap them

I think i'm just gonna swap the stators just so i don't have any weird wiring going on

it's the extra green wire coming out of the stator that needs grounded when using a 5 wire stator with a 4 wire harness

well since i had to pull the stator cover to take the chain off and on i already swapped the stators
What is the green wire for ?
