engine running issues????????

problem sorted! after alot of faffing around with jets, exhausts, needle heights i found the problem. when changing the jet i noticed the emulsion tube where the jet screws in could move up and down. but theres no grub screw just a pressed in brass pin as a retainer, so gave that a few firm taps and it runs sweet now! fmf fatty and power core 2 next. seems to run sweet and fuel rite on a 240 jet, and have no issues with using the standard head on the 240 kit. it definately benifitted from a k and n. im thinking it will be pretty quick with a race pipe on now, roll on the summer! cheers for all your feedback fellas. :)

im telling you, you don't have a 240 bb kit, if you have a stock carb on a 240 kit, your bike would be sh*tty as f*ck because of the starvation the carb is causing, its too small, for your bike to run right you would need AT LEAST A 30MM carb, even then you are starving it, for the 240 to run to its capacity you need to have a 34mm carb, and a good exhaust like lrd, f7, power pros(same pipe really) dynoport shearer, all these are the best you can run a 24 bb kit on, take a pic of ur topend a 240 measures 72mm, stock is 66mm.
-and replace ur reeds if the tips are fuct up

for starters its a 240 piston, ive measured it, measured the bore, im not complaining, it runs great, better than it did when stock infact, yeah the carbs prob on its limit but it runs great now and is alot faster than it was before. and yeah done the reeds.

let alone a stock head. the dome on the stock head is too small, take pics i want to see the size to believe this, i know people running 300-320 on bikes that only have p/p exhaust and vf3's and carb, ur running way lean if u have the 240, u will blow it up the next time you run it

tell you what, grab a flight to the uk, and come see for yourself, do ur own plugchop for all i care, but it is what i say it is, i wouldnt f*ck about with fueling, i know full well what the consequences are. the moto x shop i bought the parts from advised me that they ran a standard jet on a standard engine just with a 240 kit, i found this hard to believe so asked for a load of jets and a 230 was slightly too lean but a 240 was spot on. im not trying to infringe on you gus knowledge as your clearly quite clued up on these but every engine's different, i should know i operate a rolling road for cars, specaislising in tvr's, every engine's totally different even with identical ancillaries/ extras

take a picture i find this insane that you can run a 240 jet on a 240!! i run a 330 in mine and i dont even have p/p or head rechambered. just a tommey and wiseco piston

will do cheers, shame were all 3-4000 miles apart, no ones really in to them round here, be good to go to a few outings with you lot and find out the ins and outs and obviously have a good burn up
