I'm a college student and next year the place that I will be living is not walking distance to campus and it'd be pretty nice to have a bike to get to campus and save some gas. Not sure what models are good though so figured that you guys could help me out and tell me what I ought to keep my out for. Not wanting a huge guy that is really fast as it won't be on the interstate and probably not even the highway so I was thinking a 100 or 200 or 250 or something similar. Never driven a motorcycle so would rather stick with a dirt bike like ride that is good for beginners, want to have something that can move me out of traffic but not fast enough I'll get killed with traffic. Just throw out some ideas, open to all of them.

If someone has one they want to get rid of, pm me and we'll see what we can work out. I'm limited right now by a budget so I check craigslist and whatnot. for all you Droid and iPhone users there is a kick ass app that updates every hour for your searches on criagslist, check it out. Thanks everyone.

i have an old trail 90 that's so ugly its cool that would be a good bike for something like that......its basically a glorified moped with some dirtbike suspension lol

no i'm keeping mine. i have ridden it on the road before, it hauls around my 220lb fat ass pretty well.

It's just called a trail 90? I'll look into one, is a 90 fast enough to be on the road? I'm 5'10'' and 150-155 and would like for the bike I get to be able to go 60ish. Found an XL100 that someone is selling, it runs and everything for 400. It looks like absolute garbage but it's cosmetic so I could probably spruce it up a little, and who cares anyway.

How hard do you think it would be to set up for road use? I think it has a headlight and speedometer as it is already an enduro but I don't think it has anything on the back end in the way of tail light or turn signals or license plate holder.

Someone sent me an add for an XL100 that they are wanting to get rid of. I'm hoping they don't want much or might be willing to trade a weatherby .300 mag I am picking up this weekend from another trade. Not interested in that rifle on account that they rip your arm off when shooting. The bike looks really good and actually doesn't seem to need anything at all but it's so old that it may still be cheaper. Plus it'd be cool to be able to take it off road as well. I'd like that aspect of it as well.
