A sheared flywheel woodruff key could cause these symptoms as well.

True story^^^^LOL

Look Edge, I feel for ya, but I've been trying to get you to check this for a week. Did you get a digital meter? Also, before bothering even with that, take of the stator/flywheel cover (left side) and check that the key is okay. 2_smoked and I went around with this for a while on his. Very similar symptoms.

the key is fine, no i dont have a meter, what kind of meter do i need? which wires do i need to check and how do i trouble shoot coil, cdi and stator?all i know is when i kick it the light comes on.and i did check the spark in the begining, i guess when i checked the spark at that time it was sparking sometimes it sparks and sometimes it dosent

Ok, well you NEED TO BUY A METER. You can get a $20 digital from walmart. There are very good instructions in the manual on how to test all the electrical stuff. Ignition coil, pulse coil, power coil, plug wire, plug boot, etc. If you just don't understand them, then I can give you a wire by wire breakdown, but it is all in there, and you will learn more by reading about it. Starts on page 7-7 I believe.

So you have already checked the key physically, right?? Openned it up and looked at it?

what royal said, do some reading in the manual for yourself, maybe read it front to back. this way you teach yourself how things work and some basic diagnostic skill. that way you can help yourself and not rely on us keyboard techs lol

Slick, that was way above and beyond. +20

Edge, I'm sure the reason you are having prob with the manual is you either don't have Adobe Acrobat Reader or it is out of date. Do yourself a favor and download it. It is way too useful not to have it. Make sure yu say yes when it asks if you want to install a plugin for your browser.
Adobe - Adobe Reader download - All versions

ok i got the manual to download, im going to try to troubleshoot my electrical
