hey guys you think i could do a custom dual exaust on 1990 blaster.I think that would look sweet like a shee.Do you guys think that it would be to much backpressure for the engine.I thought it would take more heat out of that little 198cc motor which would increase performance.I would like some info on that if anybody knows if it can be done.I:I

i think theres allot of time and effort spent on testing certain pipes, and how they effect the engines that there made for.(fmf,dyno..etc)..changing just the flow, bends, length and silencers(back pressure) on two stroke's have great effects on how the engine performs....way more of an effect then say a 4 stroke...i think that youd be better off putting the money into a good pipe verses trying to make a duel pipe for a single cylinder engine..I realize that they look sweet, but i wouldnt wast your time with it..from a performance standpoint...but hey..thats just my opinions..im no pro !
and i get bored also !

if you have the means and stuff laying around to do it then i say go for it. but if you have o buy all the stuff i wouldnt.

damn..i saw the exact saame pipe going on ebay like mine a while ago...i woulda just mounted it on other side as a dummy..woulda looked the dogs balls...

why would it hurt the motor im talkin about stock pipes.Take both spark arrester off i think the motor would love the extra flow. Not talkin about fmf,dg just stock and go from there.

if you are not putting money into it just labor. it would be fun to do. have at it, let me know how it comes out. as long as you dont have money invested whats it gonna hurt. if it dont work so you wasted 2 stock pipes whoopie.

i dont think anyone said "it hurt the moter"....i was saying that i think it will hurt your performance...just look at the difference a right bend pipe makes over a left..or how a stock pipe feels compared to a big volume dyno port...two strokes are touchy and the pipe has a great influence on how they performe..but like everone said...try it out, It cant hurt...as long as ya dont tie up a bunch of money iinto it....depends on how bored ya are ..lol

exactly it don't work just chop off that pipe an seal it.Then i guess i would have another stock pipe but i think it will work if it gets done i deffinetly will post pics.

ive seen duel fmf pipes on a blaster, the guy just split the pipe into a y and used two silencers, looked cool and i dont think it would hurt proformance, because the silencer just controls noise it does nothing for performance from what im told, and if it did two silencers would flow better than one

First off you have to realize that banshee's have two pipes because its designed as a "Twin" cylinder engine with two carbs and two pipes. The blaster motor gets all of its power from back pressure fromt he expansion chamber.

You add two pipes and reduce pressure, you will also lose power. Plus add weight.

Check this out here for a better explanation as to how a two-stroke motor works

not true...this is why

The exhaust pipe of a two-stroke engine attempts to harness the energy of the pressure waves from combustion. The diameter and length of the five main sections of a pipe, are critical to producing the desired power band. The five sections of the pipe are the head pipe, diffuser cone, dwell, baffle cone, and the stinger. In general, after market exhaust pipes shift the power band up the rpm scale. Most pipes are designed for original cylinders not tuned cylinders. Companies like MOTOWERKS custom computer design and fabricate pipes based on the cylinder specifications and the type of power band targeted.

SILENCER

Silencers come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. A long silencer with a small diameter enhance the low to mid power because it increases the bleed-down pressure in the pipe. A silencer with a short length and a large core diameter provides the best bleed-down pressure for a high rpm engine. Too much pressure in the pipe at high rpm will radically increase the temperature of the piston crown and could cause the piston to seize in the cylinder.

thats what i was saying in my first post ,at the begining of this thread, and trying to stress how much a pipe really does influence how a two stroke works and why fmf and dyno..etc spends millions of dollars to constantly designe a better exhaust system to keep up with newer engine dynamics and designes.

he isnt talking about two head pipes ridinfast03 just two silencers!!! i would do it just get a Y shaped metal fitting to go on the end of the head pipe and customize it from there

it really does have a bigger effect than most people think...looks arnt as important as performance..but hey, im just an older motor head, i wanan go fast , not just look good !!!
