I need some expert advice. I am working on a blaster project and can't get it to run right for nothing. I need your opinion on things I can keep trouble shooting.

Issues: I can't get the bike to idle without having to hold the throttle a bit. with the throttle pressed at 1/4 it idles fine. Once on idle, the response is a bit slow but the bike does rev up.

When I get it on gear, it sputters and struggles and does not get any speed (literally crawls regardless of throttle position).

When I do manage to get it reved up while on gear, the bike does hit some form of powerband and gets going. As soon as the revs go down, the sputtering returns and the bike dies.

Specs: It is currently runnig on a stock carb with a 32.5 idle jet, 230 main jet, 2nd position on needle, foam airfilter, and the lid is on. Brand new boyseen power reeds.

As far as I can tell the bike has no mods. The cylinder was honed before reassembly and it has new gaskets on the cylinder, head, intake, and exhaust.

I have gone through the carb several times and it is clean as it can be. I rolled the bike on gear with the plug off to rule out a busted bearing and everything felt fine.

Any clues?

Check the pilot screw and set it to 1-1/4 turns to start (iirc), reset your idle, check to make sure the reeds are seating against the reed cage properly, and pop in a fresh plug. If you are still chasing a tune LEAK DOWN TEST.
