Driving for Work and Score some free Plastics

Was driving around my route today for work and there was a garage sale... but the guy was giving away a front and back red 400ex plastic.. not cracked or anything.. some slight discolor on one side... so i grabbed them.. not sure if they will work or not for swapping onto the blaster... but i figured for the price..they had to be worth something... I was thinking since i have the hood and gastank for blaster already i could try to make front fenders outta the ex plastic..and hopefully get the rear to mount some how some way..

Thoughts?? besides pics or im lying...cause im working on those as we speak..

And a threw in a bonus pic of my classic trailboss... everything works like mint, just put some mudlites on the back..then go throw her around in the field... LOL

ive been pondering the idea of fiberglasses light setup like that on mine. just cut up a set except for around lights and go to town. it would lookcool too if you cut em down too.
 
Hmm... looks very possible. 79bronco has EX style plastic, but they were made for the blaster I think. May want to look at his blaster for some ideas.
 
Good deal bro.... I have Maier 400ex front fender extensions bolted to my Maier Blaster racing front fender. So you may be able to cut the front fenders off the front plastic and bolt them to this>>>YFS200 BLASTER RACE FRONT FENDER | Maier USA

But it would look cool if you can mount the whole fender on with some 400ex lights, or something that looks like 400ex lights...
 
i'd hit that discolored area with a heat gun or torch it lightly, that usually removes that discoloration, and then throw them on ebay/craigslist
use that loot to get you some blaster plastics, right now you have sumthin worth a few bucks, if you cut on them, and they fail to work, your back where you started, with nadda
turn your good fortune into sumthin, and not useless, cut up plastics

How much do you think these plastics would be worth??? i didnt really consider selling them cause i have no ebay account...the plastics are big and prolly cost sh*tloads to ship from canada.... and i wasnt sure they were worth the hassle of having to drive somewhere to meet someone on a local deal... but if they are worth a couple hundred bucks maybe


The red really doesnt go with the rest of the bike.. i was hoping for black plastics.. but when i seen them i thought they had to be worth the room in the garage...
 
Both sets seem to be going for about 100 buy it now on ebay + shipping. So you could make ~200.

That's probably about right. Especially because I don't think you can buy OEM, it'd have to be maier. Seems like a fair price.
 
he messaged back... looks like hes interested... i said $250...we will see what goes on.. but it could be a decent score... i have about 12 minutes invested into the plastics now....

Still wont be the legit Gucci bag i got for a $1 at a garage sale.. but its close...
