Hi everyone! I posted here a few months ago about getting a blaster, I finally decided to trade my '84 kdx80 for a '96 blaster. Poor thing had never been torn down before at all, and was quite neglected so I decided to do a full rebuild.

So far everything's torn down, I cleaned the plastics up because they were painted black (they look awesome now), painted the frame and some misc parts for looks, switched the stock exhaust for full FMF gold series fatty and powercore 2 header. Put razors on it and new ITP rims, switched the bottom ends up I got one off a friend that had $800 put into it for a rebuild, it's rebuilt with all wiseco parts though. I'm getting the cylinder bored .080 over because the rings moved or were put in wrong, so it was scratched to hell. I bought namura piston & rings, not too sure about how those are going to perform yet.

I still need to get new swingarm bearings, a wrist pin, new grips and seat cover, front bumper, handlebars, and was thinking about getting some nice aftermarket reeds and rod, and new valves. Basically a full rebuild.

So, does anyone have any recommends as far as brands go for the parts I need? This is my first quad, for the record, so I don't have a lot of experience with this kind of stuff. I've heard certain brands perform better when paired w. certain things, such as FMF exhaust and boyesen reeds, or certain rods/valves/etc when it's bored, so I'm curious if that's true as well... So any ideas guys? Input is greatly appreciated!

You can get some Vforce3 reeds. There are some things you need to fix on your master blaster tho.you can do some research on here but somethings that you will want to do is remove the TORS and parking break as it will save you tons of problems later down the road. If you have some spare cash you can get it ported by numerous people on this website such as Ken O'Connor Racing, Wildcard, Flotek etc etc etc. Sounds like you have a nice exhaust so you wont need that. Make sure when painting to prep it well, sand and prime with about 2-3 coats then about 3-4 coats clear for longevity
