do 4 strokes have a powerband?

Every engine has a "powerband".

Its the range the engine makes power in. Most 4 stroke quads engines produce peak power and torque much lower in the range than a 2 stroke, but they still have powerbands.

Youre thinking of the peaky nature of a 2 stroke and that point in the powerband where they snap forward and start making power. Some 4 strokes are like that. Most of the race type 450s (yfzs, honda 450r, kawasakis, etc) are like that.

ohh thanks its just that i was on a z400 and drove it all the til it topped out and felt nothing lol

if you have a 2stroke with a standard factory pipe you feel less of powerband a few years ago i had a full tuned 50cc kawasaki ar50 below 6000 nothing happend i even had to use the clutch to get it up to the powerband but when it kicked in it was unstopable
thats the reason i love 2 strokes

I have ridden 2 strokes that were incredibly smooth with no big hit and I have ridden 4 strokes that hit so hard just off idle it made them basically ballistically uncontrolable

you've also ridden some 2 strokes put together by the best of the best in the industry, and i'd love to be able to ride some 2 stroke powa like that
