Direct fit clamp on filter for a 35mm carb?

Anyone got a link to an air filter that i can clamp directly on to the carb its self that still fits in the confines of the blaster?With this 35mm pwk space is limited and ive searched and seen some have an angle to them and theres about avery length imagineable.

So can anyone point me in the right direction so i dont have to experiment?

whats the o.d. of the backside of your carb ????

remember i told you...clamping a filter directly to the carb usually causes jetting problems, you really need to run the velocity stack, at least 4-6 inches long to allow the air to "straighten out" before crossing the jets

Oh ok well the filter side of the carb is 59 millimeters which is equal to 2.322835 inches.

So ya need a filter with an opening of 2.50" , ya may even get the 2.25" to squeeze on there.

a 2in coupler fits the carb perfectly.

That's weird as the specs for 35mm PWK carb is 59 millimeters. That is larger than 2".

I'm gonna have to actually measure my carb opening on the filter side as 35mm is what i have too...

you cannot go by the size rating of a rubber plumbing fitting, most plumbing stuff is rated by the I.D. not the O.D.
so, even though it says 2", thats just what size plumbing pipe it's for, not necessarily the exact O.D. of that pipe

i use a 2.25 x 2.5 reducer,
the 2.25 is the carb side, 2.5 is the cfm airbox tube

Just out of curiousity how much will this hinder my riding?I dont ever hit deep water but on some of the trails and down at the river i come across water from time to time nothing deeper than say the bottom of the engine.

Also will i need a bend anywhere with this clamp on filter and velocity stack?

Ive seen a few filters the are angled and space looks very tight for a filter to fit but obviously it can be done.

My honest opinion, is if your riding anything but dry pavement, you should have a box! Even the use of outerwares will not stop water from entering the filter, I have experience with that! Had an outerwares on top of my CFM box and it repels some spashing but not all! A nice piecs of gortex Sock will stop water but never tried it! works for my boots!!

You will have to bend the tubing as the carb is on an angle coming out of the motor and I can tell ya with just my uni filter on it it hits the frame. I will take a pic tonight. My filter is 6" long!


Some guys on here has a tube then a clamp on, I wish they would post up!

I'm still trying to figure out why a 33 and 35mm have the same dimensions in and out. and so does the 36 to 39MM carbs other than jetting and different slide numbers they are identical. Weird!

My guess is the ID of the 2 carbs will be diferant even though the OD dimensions are the same.
