Difference in year models

Are there any differences in 2003-2006 models and all the years before other than upgraded brakes and cosmetics?

I am going to go look at an 04 tomorrow if the guy still has it. Hopefully he does!!

03+ had different frame brackets,brakes system, stater, TORS system,hood,headlight,carrier,foot pegs,foot brake lever.
The 03+ have a 5 wire stator plate instead of a 4 wire. They are compatible but different.
At some point in the model run the shift star was welded. I'm not sure what year they changed that but either way, the two are compatible. The only difference is if you want to mod the shift star.
And there is a tab on the 03+ for the hood that isn't there for pre 03.

Nothing changes between 03-06, except the plastic color and/or frame color

I went last night at 11:00 to look at it, and ended up getting it cheaper than I had planned. Didn't get home til after 1:00, can't wait to start going over it this afternoon.

Nice response!!! The shift star changed to a welded one in the 03-06 years.That however does not stop anyone from doing the shift star mod. The steering stem is also different.It works fine but does not have the headlight mounts needed to run an 88-02 headlight.

Yea I knew they changed something with the steering stem also but I didn't know for sure...
