hey. im new to this forum and sorta new to blasters. i was thinking about getting the Diamond J widening kit. would you recommend the shock conversion kit and the brakelines also. or would i not need them because i would rather not spend the extra money if they are pointless. thenks

If it is the kit that i am thinking of which is a plate that moves your a-arms out then you will not need the shocks but you will need new brake lines if you still have the drum brakes then you have to get longer cables but if you have hydro fronts then just get the ones from the website hope this answers your question

the guy has 2 kits the cheaper one u can use all of your stock stuff and the other 1 u have to get shocks and stuff but idk if it comes with it. if it was me id def. just get +5 spacer for the front and + 3 for the back which is less than 40 bucks and youll be str8!!

I just bought this Diamond J kit for my daughters blaster last week. Arrived last Thurs. and i installed it in about 2 hours. After all is said and done, i am pleasantly surprised with the kit. It is strong and steady. Not as pricey as a -arms, but a good alternative. The tie rod extension kit is a little goofey, but i made a new set of tie rods at work out of 5/8 stock. I would say its worth the money! I installed on an 03 and i had to get the stainless brake lines. I would buy the kit again!!

But i am a full size adult (165lbs) lol... If it was for me, or my daughter weighed more that kiddie size, i would spring for the a arms. But all in all the a arm mounts (stock) are poorly constructed and really just tack welded on .. so it doesnt matter, the mounts would break with a arms or widening kit.

just my thoughts

So Buy IT!

If you ride hard your front end will be all kinds of twisted up. However the shock conversion kits they sell are good. Kinda spendy but good.
im only like 120 pounds and i really dont ride hard on big jumps and stuff so the front end should be fine. but im surprised how much the brake lines cost. its $300 for the front and rear kit and $410 if i want to add brakelines to the kit.

Blasterfreek has broken his swingarm, so if the kit he had is held up they are good no doubt. I have yet to see anyone with one complain.

ive hit some pretty knarly jumps lol, and i can say that yes the kit is very strong and durable and also gives u quite a variety of diffrent shock setups u can use with the shock conversion kit
