Dealing with spammers

Hello,

Recently I have noticed quite a few posts by spammers. Rather than adding to it, just flag the post. There is an exclamation (!) mark on the lower right side, click on it to flag it and write spammer in the box. I have done so quite a few times and the posts have been removed soon thereafter. Lets not let these idiots ruin this forum with their crap.

we delete them as soon as we see them. just keep on flagging and we will take care of it.

Another opition that some forums use is not to allow a new member to start their own thread until they have 10 posts.

that is a good idea rob. i will talk to the admin about that. but with the 3 new mods, and the mods we have, things should be under control.

well, theres an update to Vbulletin that if the site owner goes with it will eliminate 99% of the spam on the board. i sent Cbaber a PM with a link to the update. if he installs it, we are golden.
