Okay, while cleaning the stator any flywheel i decided id clean out the cylinder and i noticed a handful of very minor scratches on the wall. it feels real smooth but its slightly noticable when sliding fingers across, the rings need to be replaced i am aware of this, but the piston and everything is ok. should i worry about these scratches? or should i use the tool and re so the whole cylinder? i have never sanded a cylinder before, but i have the tool to use for it. what is reccomended if anythign at all? thanks again sorry for all of the questions this is my first 2 stroke and my first small engine to work on

My neighbor works on small engines and when I bought my blaster it was just like you described. I replaced the rings and had my neighbor hone the cylinder. I gained 30 lbs of compression.

Maybe the same thing would work for you.

when you hone, you do the whole thing...always when you replace rings or top end, hone the cylinder. unless you have it bored, always run a hone thru the cylinder.

if its a fresh bore, as in you just got it back from the machine shop..they bore and hone. if you take the cylinder off and replace rings ALWAYS hone

right. ill be sure to hone it. than just got to make sure of a few things before i start buying stuff :]
