Cylinder coating???

My son's blaster died yesterday. I took it apart and I definitely need a piston and the cylinder looks pretty rough. I took the jug down to the local machine shop and the guy said that he could not bore it because it has a coating. I did not think the blasters have the cylinders coated??? Do they???

if its a stock jug you should be able to bore it.

maybe thats the machine shops excuse for not wanting to work on a 2stroke jug...
there are a few of good machinist on this site that would be more then happy to deal with you...

there shouldnt be a problem... even if it has a coating, cant you bore it anyway? sounds like a sh*ty shop.

could it be Nicacell? Not sure of the procedure to bore cyli will nicacell but it might be different id check with pitboss or flotek...

Yeah it is Nikasil. It is just a "hard coating" .. It lasts alot longer, but I am pretty sure it cannot be bored out.. Some 2 stroke cylinders have this coating on them.. Not sure about Blasters
