Nm i got ya. Miss understood for a second. If you mean just the seal, you can use a flat head screwdriver, small pry bar, or like stated a seal extractor. careful to not gouge it. When u reinstall the seal use a socket n a little oil.
Well the new seal doesn't look like that. And this doesn't look like I could get a screw into. It's a kind of metal. The other side I was able to do that though.
Here you go. I put a small drywall screw very carefully into each side. I mean barely into it, just enough to grab. Then pull on the screw with some channel locks evenly. It will come out.
I highlighted the screw and retainer plate that I thought you were talking about the first time I responeded.
Don't feel stupid. Asking for help is a very smart quality. And you know you did the job yourself makes it more worthwhile.
