Crank Question

Got a crank that has no up or down play and I wont to reuse it. I noticed there appears to be some small pieces of old piston down in the bearing. Can I Spray this out with brake clean and reuse it If I check to make sure there is no junk left in it after I clean it out?

been there done that, cost me another top end when the bottom went out 6 months later

Absolutley not!

Just one grain of old piston in there and soon your wallet will be open.

it can be done, just like you CAN drive your car with a pair of pliers instead of a steering wheel, although as Awk said, its risky.

As hard as it is to hear, split the casings, clean it thouroughly, chances are the bearings are a bit messed up too.
