crank case fix

any body know if a leaking crank case will effect performance? if so what symptoms will it produce? it doesn't pour out but my skid plate stays wet after a good long ride.

i think it should be fine as long as its not burning gear oil .. if it runs low i think your clutch will slip thats about it that i kno of .. where is it leaking from ?? like drain plug, clutch cover..

I looks to me liek its right where the two cases meet in the very middle of the engine. Its not the drain plug.

ok its dripping from where the 2 case half come together ..

try draining the oil, clean up the seam in the cases real good, and put rtv over the seam, a buddy tried it and it doesnt leak

could this cause any performance problems? its not too bad and its a big job to fix it. but if it might cause any problems i'll have to fix it.

if it leaks through into the crank portion of the case it will smoke alot and drain the tranny leading to big problems in the clutch ect... but if its not leaking into the crank case id just try an seal it and let it go. but make sure you keep an eye on it

yea it doesn't seem to to be leaking in there. the bike used to smoke alot but just when it was warming up then it was fine. i'll try to seal it and see what happens

my blaster is leaking oil where the two cases come togather also so should I just have it broke down and have a new gasket put in it I was just wondering if this would solve the problem

There is no gasket in there, they use Yama Bond sealer, like a liquid gasket.
