Went to my local barring distributor and got a replacement baring for my blaster crank its the right side. Took the old one with me and he brought out one with the same numbers but it has seals already on it. I asked him if he was sure if I can use it and he said ya just take one side out. Any one ever done this or have any opinions on this?

Soooo im assuming you mean it is a "SHIELDED" bearing with a cover on the side?

In theory yes you can but i think i would have just bought a set from all balls.

If it fits and with the shield removed it looks correct then yea id think you could use it but bearings arent really a thing id take a chance with and definately wouldnt be modding them considering how cheap the correct ones are.

Its up to you but if you use it be sure to pay close attention to the engine and if it starts to sound differently at all id find out why and verify that bearings not the culprit.

A bearing could turn into a whole new engine or the least a new crank if things go south.

Let us know bro.

EBC are makers of industrial bearings., check them out .

Yea i understand that and am a fan of ebc bearings as well

But what he sounds like hes describing is a shielded bearing.

just because its the same dimensions dont mean its correct for the application.

Ive not seen many shielded bearings in engines which is why i questioned how can it get lubricated?Im assuming thats why he was told to remove the shield on one side but id still caution him to not use it if hes unsure those crank bearings go through hell.

The part number is 63052r which is the same number as the original ones from factory just different company. Here is some pics of the new one and a pic of the old one

This is the factory one

Looks like a better bearing than the stock one, it has one extra ball, that must count for something.

Less pressure, less friction and more support.

The stock one may have less balls, and larger spacing for eaiser pick up of oil.

If you do use the new one, completly remove the grease and lubricate with the 2 stroke oil of your choice.

If it were me I would give it a run.

After seeing pics id have to agree.

Make sure as he said to remove the grease with brake kleen and lube it up with a good quality 2 stroke oil as stated..

Id feel perfectly fine using that bearing hell id replace the other at the same time and have a matched set and be done with it.

The inside diameter and the outside diameter might be the same but in order for the new bearing to have a extra on in it means the bearings are smaller which might not be as stong as the original, I would hate to see you put them in and have problems from it. I would buy all balls and be done with it. Imo

Well just discovered a new hiccup. I was going to go to just use it and take my chances but I took advise from a video of ken o when he says to check every thing. I discovered that the bearing is 1mm thicker. does any one have a all balls one laying around they can measure and let me know what it measures?

Good job following kens advice his vids are very informative.

Id hang this idea up and just buy the all balls if theres a difference in thickness

I have some but theyre in my blaster so no help there bro.

hang on though im sure someone has a set llaying around for measure.

Not sure why you want to measure an all balls theyre identical to oem

From the pics I have seen the all balls have 8 balls in them as well. But ya Think Im going to try to take this one back to the baring distro and get my money back. This thing was 25.00 just was hoping to get my wheeler up and running before the week end looks like that's not going to happen. Oh well.
