I have the Mac on Craigslist as well, and yesterday I recieved an email asking if it was still for sale. Today, I got a new email from a DIFFERENT email address saying the following:

Hello,

I really appreciate your response to my email.I want you to
consider it sold, pls do withdraw the advert from craigslist to avoid
disturbance.I want you to know that i will be paying via bank Cashier
check .I will like you to provide me with the following. information
to facilitate the mailing of the check to you .

1.....Full name to write on the check
2.....Full Physical address to post the check(Not p.o box)
3.....City, State and Zip Code
4.....Home& Cell Phone to contact you
5.....Exactly total amount

*** Note that the payment will be shipped to your address via UPS NEXT
DAY SERVICE and I will like you to know that you will not be
responsible for shipping i will have my mover come over as soon as you
have cashed the check** Thanks Please get back to me asap. Also i will
like you to remove the items form the sales board Thanks.

Happy xmas

Sounds like a scam to me, but I don't know for sure. Does anyone else know? Thanks guys!

I'd tell them you want money order so you do not have to provide all the info, just your name. I would also say you request tracking on the overnight delivery of the money order. Tell them you will hold it for 24hrs while recieving payment, in which you will hold off other buyers, but that until you receive actual payment you will not take down posting. If no response ... it is definitely a scam to get your info.

I have dealt with craigslist a lot and have recieved multiple scams but not this one yet. I would email back requesting a phone number to work out above details, not do it through email.

Bro that's a scam I don't even deal with the email sh*t on there anymore i list my number but spell it out instead of numbers! Has worked for over five years, no scammers!

this part right here tells you it is a scam.

I got loaded with junk mail and calls trying to sell me all kinds of crap after replying to the same one. That's all I got out of it.

Yes, I provided a phone number but spelled out a few digits of it.

I'm pretty sure this is a scam to, but I replied with what Pikled said, just incase. People really have no life to troll that much on craigslist.

Thanks for all the good information, guys. I'm new to this craigslist stuff. You'd think they would have better security against it.

I've sold a good bit on CL and think I've been sent about every scam email they have.lol. Do not ship to Africa . Do not take credit card, money order of any kind or paypal.cash only.

Thanks for the info. man. I'm completely new to craigslist. I think I'm gonna stay away from it. Seems like you can't believe much on it...

when i just sold that ninja 250, i got every type of scam reply imaginable
and they will do it thru texts also

they are also posing as females, thinking we will be less suspicious,
heres what i got, from 3 different people, with just a different name inserted............

hi, i'm kristen
i am and navy officer, and am leaving tonite for an atlantic tour of duty,
please accept my paypal payment and i will arrange for pick-up

yeah, fuggin right, and i was born on the 6th sunday of the month

heres my email reply and how i weeded them out..................

location and cell #
cash in hand, in person only. period

the scammers never replied to that ????
but the girl who bought the bike did !!!!!

It's a shame that you have to deal with so much BS just to sell on CL. Had a CL scam in my state that involved a posting of a car for sale. There was three different people that went to look at it and was robbed at gun point.

the bad part about all of this is that paypal isnt catching on and protecting us sellers,
i've heard the buyer will claim he never recieved the item, and paypal refunds the loot, so your out the loot and item, how they are doing this with titled vehicles is beyond me ????
