Cracked case halve

Has anyone ever repaired a cracked case with JB Weld or anything similar? Or is it even possible?

have somebody tig weld it. case half most likely will be at least $50 plus shipping anyway and have to wait for it.

i'm actaully looking for a set of busted cases.. as long as they hold a crank and a cylinder. need them for mock up purposes for port work.. if any of you guys have a set lemme know.

Yamaha holds tolerances very well but changing a half is not a thing to do, back in the day you could only buy them in pairs do to them being line-bored as a pair, try and keep a matched set.

i used jb weld on my cases and its been holding up real good. that stuff really works. kept me from buying new cases.

i have a 1985 suzuki 185alt trike (3 wheeler) and the shifter snapped off, so my uncle welded it and when he was tapping it back onto the shaft it cracked through the opposite side..well for a quite fix, he used jb weld. it holds oil-sort of. lol it has a slow leak, it did work but i just recently bought a different cover because it was getting annoying
